Our sustainability
Navantia is strongly committed to sustainability, and this forms part of our corporate culture and values. This ambition to achieve sustainability has materialised through the company’s Sustainability Strategy, which was developed and designed with the help of professionals in the matter. With this at the forefront, a Task Force was set up in 2021 with representatives from all business areas and the ESG Committee was established, which shall ensure compliance with the defined actions and targets.
On the basis of our analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the needs of our stakeholders, a number of priority areas have been defined for the Social, Environmental and Governance scopes, for which we have set objectives, actions and indicators to monitor the evolution thereof.
Sustainability Policy
Adherence to the United Nations Global Compact since 2019
Navantia is firmly committed to protecting the planet and people and willingly takes global challenges onboard. Hence, in 2019 the company adhered to the world’s biggest initiative on business sustainability by participating as a member of the United Nations Global Compact.
Consequently, Navantia guarantees that its business model is aligned with the Ten Principles defined by the United Nations in regard to conduct and action concerning human rights and business, labour regulations, environment and the fight against corruption.
Likewise, Navantia is committed to social responsibility based on the aforementioned principles, and annually reports its progress through a Progress Report or Sustainability Report.
The United Nations Global Compact calls businesses and organisations to align their strategies and operations with the Ten Principles and has been endorsed by the UN to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the private sector aligned with the 2030 Agenda.
