Nearly 100 years building submarines

Navantia has been involved in the design, construction, and life cycle of submarines for almost a hundred years, in close collaboration with the Spanish Navy. During that time, it has worked with different models, its own or in collaboration with a variety of Spanish and foreign partners, developing construction, maintenance or upgrading programmes.

Navantia’s evolution where submarines are concerned (from Class B to the current S-80, and including the Scorpene submarine for export) and its international experience with Defence export projects, has enabled Navantia to firmly establish a solid base of expertise and skill that allows the Company to offer clients from all over the world a wide range of services that include:

  • Advice for the definition of needs
  • Life cycle
  • Upgrading and implementations to increase the life cycle
  • Training
  • Simulators
  • Integration of the air-independent propulsion system (AIP)
  • Training local industry in technology transfer projects
  • Digital services
