Alliances

We aim to promote association for sustainable development.

We would like to further explore and cement alliances that permit creating an ecosystem so that Navantia can adopt these new capabilities, expand ESG knowledge and promote the ESG strategy.

Initiatives:

Alliances with universities (and secondary schools) to attract talent by promoting collaboration.

Collaboration with the local community to create bonds and commitments.

Action plan at STEM education centres to encourage young students who would like to work in the industry.

Naval Culture

Navantia has a strong commitment to naval culture through its work involving dissemination, knowledge creation and support for museums. Navantia promotes dissemination of its cultural heritage in different lines of business through activities, publication of books, conservation of museums, exhibitions, etc.

Moreover, we support Navantia’s Naval museums in the different areas and we are including a section on our Green Energy business in these areas.

Apart from other actions, this commitment materialises through the showcasing of our cultural, industrial and documentary heritage, in a necessary alliance with the local communities where we operate. Navantia is aware of its close historical relations with the communities where its shipyards are located, and therefore strengthening synergies with them is fundamental, through wide dissemination of the company’s heritage.

Success stories:

Technology at the service of health.

NAVANTIA’S Centre for Additive Manufacturing Excellence (CEFAN), located at the shipyard in Cadiz Bay, has used its technology to help children and blind persons.

“3D Hospital” Project:

Navantia has been cooperating with Cadiz University, Virgen del Rocio hospital in Seville and Puerta del Mar hospital in Cadiz since 2019 by manufacturing 3D prosthetics parts to help children with orthopaedic problems. On request by these hospitals, in 2021 eighty orthopaedic parts were built, benefiting seven children.

The idea behind this project is to represent several concepts of astronomy through additive manufacturing, such as a black hole, a galaxy or a planet, so that children can use their sense of touch to picture concepts such as these that are so abstract for them. Navantia’s Centre for Additive Manufacturing Excellence started this project in 2021 and to date has delivered the first 4 kits.
