Communications systems integrator NAVCOM & HERMESYS

Based on the client’s requirements and with their active participation and preferences, Navantia designs the Communications System with the generic name of NAVCOMS.

NAVCOMS encompasses all phases of the program: design, manufacturing, factory tests, integration tests on land, on-board tuning, sea and harbor tests, training, operational assessment and life cycle support.

Navantia includes in the design of NAVCOMS national products from the local industry, allowing the participation of this industry in all phases of product development and establishing with it agreements on technology transfer and training. Navantia is aware that the national industry plays an important role in supporting the life cycle of NAVCOMS.

The objective of this system is to provide the necessary resources so that at all times there is an exchange of information between tactical posts (internal communications) and between these and other naval units, air and decision centers of the Navy on land (external communications).

In order to provide added value to NAVCOMS, Navantia Systems has developed HERMESYS, an integrated communication control system based on IP (Internet Protocol) technology.

HERMESYS brings to NAVCOMS greater Capacity for Process, Control and Supervision of the Communications System. It also allows reductions of more than 70% in terms of installation and set-up labor, as well as in weight, with respect to systems based on TDM technology.
