Gas Ships LNG
The experience of Navantia in the design and construction of these gas tankers is nourished with the 5 units built for the shipping companies Knutsen and Fernández Tapias, for exploitation by Gas Natural, Unión Fenosa and Repsol. Its main innovation was the use of a special type of steel to withstand low temperatures and the incorporation of the GTT insulation membrane in the cargo tanks.
Currently, Navantia has developed a new LNG design of 297 meters of length and 46 of beam, with a transport capacity of 176,500 cubic meters. Designed following all the requirements of the IACS classification societies, it is also totally ecological and with a low emission of NOx and SOx.
