Ease of use and training

The aim of this service is to improve the quality of life of the crew of the ships built by Navantia by collecting health data through smart watches. The collection of this data allows the notification by thresholds and even the generation of reports of the individual and/or collective state.

Due to the great importance of the crew in the missions, Navantia is working on initiatives called ‘Smart Crew’ whose objective is to connect the data generated by the crew in a similar way to what happens with the ship's assets, in order to develop services focused mainly on their well-being and safety. The ‘Crew Effort’, being a use case of the Digital Twin of the F110 frigate, is part of this initiative.

Endowment effort improves endowment quality of life with smart watches and ‘Smart Crew’ initiative for welfare and safety

The manning effort allows the crew's health to be monitored, generating reports and alerts. This initiative seeks to improve the quality of life and mitigate fatigue in extreme conditions during missions.

Intelligent Enlistment

It contributes to the smart enlistment of the ship. Navantia uses advanced technologies to simplify the process of ship preparation, issuing recommendations based on historical data and their condition, thus improving safety and efficiency at sea.

Without real-time monitoring, it is difficult to identify and mitigate extreme conditions.

The manning effort, through the implementation of advanced technology such as smartwatches on ships, concretely materialises the innovative ‘Smart Crew’ initiative. This proposal aims to transform the living and working experience on board by integrating people-centric digital solutions. Smart watches enable real-time data collection from the crew, similar to the way ship systems and assets are monitored.

This connectivity between humans and technology opens the door to a new generation of services focused on the overall well-being and safety of the crew, anticipating needs, reducing risks and improving the quality of life on board. Thanks to this digitalisation, not only operational efficiency but also the human sustainability of maritime work is strengthened.
