The Digital Twin improves design efficiency and accuracy and supports operations, while providing the digital platform required for smart sustainment, procurement and product engineering throughout the entire lifecycle. Together, these capabilities optimise decision-making at every stage of design, operation and sustainment.

The centre of excellence’s mission is to provide cutting‑edge digital solutions to naval fleets and other industrial facilities, ensuring technological superiority and operational efficiency, with significant cost reductions throughout the lifetime of ships and platforms. The Digital Twin Navantia COEX is a global reference in its innovation field and a leader of the paradigm shift in the naval and industrial sectors, thanks to virtual tools such as modelling and simulation that have revolutionised asset management and the execution of coordinated missions.
Digital twins
Innovation and development of virtual replicas of ships and platforms, known as digital twins, delivering high-value information to customers and connectivity with onshore centres for operations.
Information integration
As designers, manufacturers and service providers, we can integrate information across the entire lifecycle of ships and platforms, from design and manufacturing to testing, as well as operations and sustainment.
Facilities and team
The Digital Twin Navantia COEX is located at the Ferrol shipyard (Galicia) and covers more than 2,500 square metres. Facilities include an advanced laboratory, collaborative work areas and spaces dedicated to 3D simulation and visualisation. The building design integrates sustainable technologies and is powered by green energy sources.
