Optimising resources through automation and efficient maintenance
The Maritime Action Ships of the P-40 series, built by Navantia, offer a modern and versatile platform for naval operations in civil and military scenarios. Their modular design allows their configuration to be adapted to a wide variety of missions.
With a high degree of automation, they are optimised to operate with small crews, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as the SCOMBA combat system, Skyfender radar and DORNA fire control. Their ability to operate helicopters and unmanned vehicles enhances their autonomy and effectiveness.
Designed for multi-environment operations, ready vessels are involved in maritime security missions, traffic control, joint operations, maritime interdiction, rescue and pollution response.
Its architecture reduces consumption, logistics costs and maintenance times, while complying with environmental requirements and military regulations.
DORNA system: precise aiming
The DORNA system enables automatic target acquisition and tracking, integration with radar and electro-optical sensors, and highly effective fire control.
Helicopter and UAS integration
They have a hangar and platform to operate helicopters such as NH90 or SH-60B, as well as unmanned systems such as the M5D AIRFOX for surveillance.
The P-40 series was created in response to the Spanish Navy's need for a modular, multi-purpose ocean-going vessel to replace obsolete patrol vessels and effectively cover maritime presence, surveillance and security missions, both in national waters and in international scenarios.
