We are a driving force for social contribution

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At Navantia we work to recognise and promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as core values that improve the working environment and enable people to develop their full potential in an atmosphere of tolerance and respect.

Occupational Health and Safety and organisational well-being

At Navantia, we consider the Safety, Health and organisational Well-being of all our employees as the primary criterion to be taken into account in the development of activities, always seeking to meet the objective of zero accidents. We identify and assess health and safety risks, establishing appropriate preventive measures in each case to prevent damage from occurring and always checking their effectiveness.

Our processes

Prevention is integrated into all our management processes; it is an intrinsic practice in all activities carried out in the company, regardless of the position held.

Our employees

Employees receive the information and training they need to perform their duties, encouraging their participation in the development of the company's prevention policy.

Programmes and Results

Equality Plan

Navantia's Equality Plan promotes actions that ensure compliance with values and ethical principles related to equality and diversity in labour relations. It establishes measures aimed at increasing female representation in management and leadership positions, correcting gender imbalances between professional groups and eliminating the gender pay gap. Equality and diversity are integrated into all human resources policies, providing tools aimed at talent development and retention.

This plan applies at all levels and includes actions and objectives in different areas: culture, communication and corporate image; equal pay; recruitment; training and development; reconciliation and flexibility; as well as prevention of workplace and sexual harassment.

Workplace harassment

Navantia has protocols for the prevention of and response to cases of sexual harassment or harassment based on sex, which have been jointly agreed by Management and employee representatives. These protocols address two key aspects: the prevention of harassment and the company’s response to complaints for this reason, establishing two types of actions:

Measures aimed at raising awareness, preventing and avoiding situations of harassment or potentially constituting harassment.

An internal procedure for cases in which, despite efforts to prevent such conduct, an employee may lodge an internal complaint or grievance.

Equality and diversity

Navantia understands diversity as a value-creating asset that fosters innovation and enriches its employees both personally and professionally, who are key to achieving the company’s objectives and success.

Diversity is considered not only in terms of gender, but also cultural, generational and ideological diversity, sexual orientation, different abilities, skills and competencies, as well as any other personal, physical or social condition.

As a sign of this commitment, Navantia has a diversity and gender equality strategy.

Training and Development

Navantia takes an active part in job fairs to offer vacancies to recent graduates and organises events and employment activation days such as “Empower Your Future” or the “Itinere” days to increase the number of new hires of women and recent graduates. Navantia also promotes technical and scientific vocations among women.

People's talent

For Navantia, having the best talent in its workforce and providing it with the tools it needs to grow with the company is a key element in its people management strategy. To this end, it has procedures in place to attract and retain talent, provide training and professional development, foster an environment of equal opportunities and ensure the quality and stability of employment, among other aspects.

Navigators of Change

Navantia works actively to maintain the engagement of the people who are part of the company and to turn them into its best ambassadors. To this end, they are involved in different initiatives such as breakfasts with Management, mentoring and reverse mentoring programmes, events for new recruits and the internal Navigators of Change programme.

Partnerships and Social Value

Navantia considers a priority to strengthen its partnerships with universities, organisations, NGOs and foundations in order to promote social action with real impact. These partnerships make it possible to combine academic knowledge, community engagement and transformative capacity, generating projects that respond to current social challenges and strengthen the link between the company and society. Investing in these synergies means moving towards a more inclusive, sustainable and purpose-driven model.

Likewise, creating networks with foundations, NGOs and local associations strengthens companies' roots in their territories, generating strong ties with the communities in which they operate. These partnerships make it possible to design social projects aligned with corporate values.

Partnerships with universities

Navantia has more than 35 agreements and 5 chairs with leading universities, which not only boosts technological innovation but also opens up opportunities to attract young talent and foster vocations in strategic sectors such as STEM.

Collaboration with educational centres

The company also collaborates with educational centres at all levels in order to inspire young students to consider STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) studies, especially encouraging girls and young women to pursue scientific vocations and move towards real equal opportunities.

Isaac Peral Chair

Navantia has created a collaborative environment with universities and research centres that are part of its innovation programme and help it to achieve technological leadership through various initiatives.

As a member of Forética, Navantia promotes the integration of social, environmental and good governance criteria, taking part in the Sustainability Action Group in State-Owned Companies. It also collaborates with the Fundación Biodiversidad, reinforcing its commitment to environmental protection.

Volunteering

We have created a list of volunteer initiatives to which Navantia employees can sign up and participate on a regular basis. There is also a list of one-off collaboration initiatives. Staff take part in the “Real Three Kings” volunteer programme, replying to letters to the Three Kings from children and elderly people with limited resources and ensuring that they receive a gift during the festive season.
