The Smart 8000 is a concept design for the future multi-role destroyer-type surface combat ship designed to engage and neutralise asymmetric and conventional threats (ASW, AAW, ASuW) and also capable of BMD operations. It provides reserves of space, weight and power generation to accommodate new weapon systems such as DEW (Directed Energy Weapons), hypervelocity missile defence systems or EMRG (Electromagnetic Rail Guns) on board.
This platform concept revolves around the operation of a wide range of UAVs, USVs and UUVs to augment and extend their capabilities, with an extensive multi-mission area to embark different mission modules. It can also adapt its living, service and operational spaces through modular solutions.
