The Integrated Platform Control System (SICP) centralizes monitoring and control of the platform and its crew, optimizing operational availability, robustness, and resilience, while reducing life cycle costs. It includes an onboard training module (OBTS) and supports decision-making and advanced damage management. Its Client/Server architecture separates application software from the operating system and is supported by a high-bandwidth, fault-tolerant, redundant VLAN network using layer 3 switches. An advanced configuration center facilitates software deployment and control. Thanks to updated mimics and an intuitive interface, the operator efficiently manages systems. Additionally, information can be accessed from any SICP station or mobile device, speeding up response and data exchange across the ship.
The reliability of information and system invulnerability is ensured through cybersecurity protection and recovery measures.
It incorporates a damage management module featuring CCTV viewing, recommended safety actions (with the ability for the crew to define custom actions), and incident monitoring and tracking. All of this can be managed in 3D, displaying real-time status of equipment and circuits on the ship’s structure, escape routes, personnel locations, and more.
SICP Complex 3.0 represents the ultimate evolution in Platform Control architecture, deploying enabling technologies such as advanced algorithms, modularity, hyperconvergence, advanced damage control, etc., to support decision-making and as a precursor to autonomous ships and C4IP.
Navantia’s SICP offers clients the most comprehensive tools to achieve situational awareness of all platform systems and equipment, greatly aiding decision-making and auditing.
Its modular, robust, and scalable architecture based on COTS components available in the market, its adaptability throughout the life cycle, and adherence to the highest design and quality standards make SICP the best choice for any naval platform.
The SICP is a modular and scalable control infrastructure design based on COTS components that offer high availability, robustness, resilience, and cybersecurity, following the highest standards required by clients and classification societies. It enables platform situational awareness and damage management, reducing decision-making complexity and crew needs.
