Integration of new sensors and weapons

The CMS is a system comprising hardware and software, designed to assist operators in the interpretation and control of sensor information and the use of actuators, optimising the ship's response. CMS contributes by compiling the tactical situation, sensor and actuator allocation, force coordination, mission planning and decision support in both peace and war operations.

Navantia CMS integrates all Combat System components as a system of systems. Navantia CMS covers a wide range of configurations while maintaining a common core and supporting all types of operations. Navantia CMS provides the capability to simultaneously conduct all types of missions in a multi-threat environment. Navantia CMS is based on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) elements and open technologies, which provide a modular, flexible and scalable architecture. This allows its adaptation and evolution for decision support.

SCOMBA is a CMS that provides the capability to execute and support multi-role combat and maritime security operations. It covers a wide range of missions in which security and defence tasks are performed.

SCOMBA has been designed to fully support the command in every phase of naval operations, including assessing and monitoring the tactical situation, planning and coordinating actions, and controlling sensors and integrated weapons. Its operation and performance is critical to the operational effectiveness of the ship.

Combat Cloud

The Combat Cloud seeks to improve the capability of the Military Force through the collection, processing and distribution of information. It has elements of computing, communications, storage, cybersecurity, multi-domain asset integration, training and planning services, COP generation and distribution, collaborative combat, artificial intelligence and big data, among others. Its architecture is intelligently reconfigurable, acting as a key enabler in multi-domain and distributed maritime operations.

In-theatre situational awareness, responsiveness and adaptability to multiple scenarios are key requirements of the CMS.

The CMS is the warship's tool that allows it to coordinate the use of actuators in response to sensor information, individually or cooperatively with other units in the force.

The adaptability and scalability of the CMS allows the use of a common core CMS with a mission configuration for ASUW, AAW, ASW, amphibious operations, minehunters...
