Virtual representation

NAVANTIS is a family of simulators used to train ship crews designed by Navantia, both in the operation of equipment and systems, as well as in maintenance tasks. Thanks to the use of a high-performance 3D graphics engine, accurate simulation models and Virtual Reality equipment, these simulators provide highly realistic training experiences.

The advantages of training through simulators are evident. Sessions are conducted within the controlled environment of a training classroom, avoiding the costs of putting to sea: personnel, tugboats, fuel, equipment wear, ammunition, etc. Normal operations can be practised so operators gain proficiency through repetition as needed, but dangerous scenarios can also be simulated—adverse weather, system failures, onboard fires or floods—without endangering personnel or the ship. NAVANTIS simulators provide trainees with deep and precise knowledge of the ship and its systems. In addition to familiarising with equipment layout, they are also used to learn system operation. The NAVANTIS family includes simulators tailored to the different roles within a ship’s crew: from engineers, electricians, and Damage Control teams, to navigators and helmsmen, as well as operators of radio and combat systems. All can be trained individually or in coordinated collective sessions.

Immersive training to prepare a crew safely and effectively

NAVANTIS offers an immersive and realistic learning environment where the crew can train risk-free. Using advanced simulation and virtual reality technologies, we enhance training in operation and maintenance, optimising emergency response and reducing learning times.

Flexible and scalable training

Navantis adapts to training needs using both individual and coordinated sessions. Thanks to its flexibility, content and scenarios can be easily updated, ensuring learning is always aligned with operational requirements and the latest industry technologies.

Technology serving training: advanced simulation for maximum performance

With a 3D engine, accurate simulation models and VR devices, our simulators offer highly realistic training. Crews can explore the ship, interact with systems and practise procedures in a risk-free environment. Scenarios can be customised to suit different operational needs.

From routine operations to complex emergencies, training is delivered in controlled conditions, enabling repetition until mastery is achieved. All without the high costs of at-sea training, maximising efficiency and safety.

Risk-free training

Simulation allows for practising critical manoeuvres and emergency procedures without exposing crew or ship to danger. Trainees can face fires, system failures, and adverse conditions in a safe environment, ensuring quick, effective, error-free responses in real emergencies.

Reduced wear and tear

Use of simulators lowers wear on real equipment, cuts maintenance and replacement costs, and ensures operational availability of systems for real missions under better conditions.

Adaptable training

Simulators adapt to all levels—from novices to experts—offering customised training for each naval unit’s needs, ensuring precise operational and tactical preparation.

Time optimisation

Simulation, safety and success

Innovating naval training for operational excellence

Navantis represents essential innovation in naval training, offering safe environments that allow repeated practice and skill refinement without risk. This system integrates advanced technology and realistic scenarios to optimise time and cut costs, ensuring maximum crew performance. Training is adapted to each user’s specific needs, promoting interoperability and efficiency in complex scenarios, and consolidating a training model that drives excellence in real-world operations.
