The Flat Open Unit Workshop implements a smart manufacturing concept with automation, robotisation, hybrid laser welding, IoT and digital twin, optimising processes on 9000 m². It increases efficiency by 20%, integrates open unit lines and profile processing, and meets demanding and strategic domestic and export deadlines.
It has two lines: Open Units and Profile Processing, with high-precision plasma cutting stations, robotic and hybrid laser welding, assembly and surface treatment. The finishing station includes extraction with self-propelled modules. The distribution strategy optimises workflows, mobility and employee training.
With 9000 m² of facilities and 20% more efficiency, this Navantia 5.0 reference workshop integrates IoT, robots and advanced digital twin.
The low heat input hybrid laser welding station achieves distortion-free speeds, optimising production rates and accuracy.
