Navantia leads the cruise ship repair and modernization activity from its Bahía de Cádiz Shipyard, establishing itself as one of the leading European centers in this field. Its strategic location between key routes in the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean makes it an optimal base for technical stopovers and major dry dockings. It features one of the largest dry docks in Europe (386 x 66 m, 440,000 DWT), over 3,000 meters of berth with 9 meters of draft, and advanced industrial systems: wastewater treatment plant (400 t/day), electrical supply up to 4,000 A at 440V/60Hz, seawater pressurization up to 1,300 m³/h, and a high-capacity fire protection network.

The shipyard offers a complete logistics infrastructure, with capacity to store up to 800 containers and 1,000 m² of covered warehouse, as well as a local network of specialized auxiliary industry. This allows large-scale projects to be tackled with simultaneous intervention in technical and hotel areas. Navantia has performed work for the world’s leading cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Holland America, Disney, Marella, and Windstar, signing fleet agreements and working on flagship vessels such as Icon of the Seas, Queen Victoria, Symphony of the Seas, and Carnival Venezia, thus reinforcing its position as a benchmark in the maintenance and modernization of large cruise ships.
