COEX Smart Services is Navantia's Center of Excellence specialized in the development of intelligent solutions for the sustainment and operability of naval platforms. Located at the Cartagena shipyard, it integrates advanced capabilities in predictive logistics, data analysis, virtual assistants, digital twins, and immersive technologies to ensure maximum operational performance throughout the ship's life cycle. Its approach is based on Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and methodologies such as MBSE and MBPS, facilitating decision-making through the strategic use of information.

With more than 80 years of accumulated experience in its multidisciplinary team and a network of partners including universities, technology centers, and leading companies such as IBM, Indra, or Telefónica, COEX Smart Services drives strategic national and European projects such as EDINAF, EPC, or SILPRE. Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, test benches, and advanced simulation systems, this center acts as a technological engine for a new generation of digitalized, sustainable, and mission-oriented logistic services.

Located in Cartagena, COEX Smart Services promotes a new sustainment model based on intelligent technologies that optimize operability, reduce costs, and extend the useful life of naval platforms. From predictive maintenance with artificial intelligence to advanced sensing and immersive simulation, the center develops capabilities that enable informed, real-time decision-making with less uncertainty. Its infrastructures include an automation laboratory, electric propulsion test bench, augmented reality environments, and systems for complex data management.

Additionally, the center leads key European projects such as EDINAF and EPC, where it contributes to the design of common digital architectures and condition-based maintenance systems. At the national level, it participates in initiatives such as SILPRE or MAPRE, integrating digital twins and advanced analytics to improve operational availability. Thanks to its collaborative approach, COEX Smart Services positions itself as a key component in the transition toward a more connected, efficient, and resilient defense ecosystem.
