Sustainable marine energy
The Cadiz shipyard specialises in the repair and modernisation of all types of vessels - from cruise ships to naval vessels - with twelve dry docks, syncrolift and heavy lift cranes. It provides life cycle support at the Rota Naval Base and leads marine energy projects with Seanergies.
With more than 300 years of experience, Cadiz operates 24/7 for repairs, retrofits and major transformations, backed by ISO certifications. Its strategic location in the Strait of Gibraltar allows for rapid attention to the Spanish Navy and the US Navy. It is also home to Navantia Seanergies' centre of excellence in the Bay of Cadiz.
Founded in 1891, the Cadiz Shipyard has gone from being a small industrial enclave to launching milestones such as the training ship Juan Sebastian Elcano (1927), a symbol of the Spanish Navy and holder of the world record for nautical miles travelled by a sailing ship of its class. This century-old heritage reinforces its reputation in shipbuilding and ship repair.
Global leadership in cruise ship repairs
Since 2022, it has topped the world ranking of shipyards that repair the most cruise ships, thanks to alliances with the main shipping companies and docks capable of receiving vessels of up to 387 x 67 metres. This volume of work places Cadiz as an international reference for the maintenance of large passenger vessels.
Versatile, high-capacity infrastructure
With a surface area of 304,000 m², 7 quays, 3 docks (one floating) and cranes of up to 100 t, it can simultaneously serve cruise ships, gas tankers and navy vessels. The proximity to the port facilitates logistics, while the auxiliary facilities in Rota (workshops, warehouses and offices) reinforce the technical and training support.
