Support Vessels

Support ships meet the need for offshore provisioning of other ships to enable them to continue their mission. They can serve as admiralty ships. They have the capacity to supply up to three ships at a time with fuel, water, food, ammunition and other materials. In addition, its on-board hospital, its capacity to transport containers and the large volume of its tanks, among other features, allow this vessel to carry out humanitarian and health aid missions for the civilian population in circumstances of catastrophe and environmental defence. Navantia's Support Vessels are a comprehensive and versatile solution for offshore supply and support, offering flexibility, regulatory compliance, medical capabilities, interoperability and reliability.

Navantia has built the BAC Cantabria for the Spanish Navy and two units for Australia: Stalwart and Supply. This design integrates military and civilian concepts and complies with current international environmental regulations, such as the double hull layout. Its modern combat system SCOMBA, of national production, facilitates its integration in a Naval Force and its Integrated Platform Control System, of 100% Spanish development and which provides a high degree of automation, reduces the need for personnel to operate the ship.
