- Technological innovations such as SSI and the Digital Twin are paving the way for the future of naval defence, with more flexible and automated fleets.
Navantia will participate in DSEI, the defence exhibition held in the United Kingdom from 9 to 12 September, with a prominent presence from its British subsidiary, Navantia UK.
Following the acquisition of Harland & Wolff last January, Navantia UK will showcase its roadmap at this international event to reinforce the UK’s industrial capabilities in response to defence challenges.
Navantia will present at DSEI its innovation strategy and the technologies that enable it to offer advanced products and services to its clients, addressing current naval defence challenges. These include promoting more flexible and automated fleets, reduced crew sizes, integration of unmanned vehicles, and data-driven decision-making enabled by sensorisation and Digital Twin technology.
The company’s multinational industrial and design capabilities allow Navantia to deliver these innovative solutions to its clients. As a key defence partner to the British Government, Navantia UK will build three new Fleet Solid Support (FSS) vessels to support the Royal Navy.
“Our presence at DSEI will highlight Navantia UK’s unique contribution to the UK’s defence and shipbuilding ecosystem,” said Donato Martínez, CEO of Navantia UK. “From design to delivery, we are developing capabilities and increasing capacity to support the government’s defence ambitions, ensuring that increased defence spending generates real value through British companies and delivers a meaningful defence dividend.”
The company’s strategy encompasses the use of cutting-edge digital shipbuilding tools, modernisation of its facilities, employee training, and a culture of continuous innovation. Navantia UK will bring the expertise of its parent company, Navantia, along with its portfolio and technological capabilities, to deliver maximum value to its clients.
At DSEI, Navantia UK will present its strategy to deliver innovation and breakthrough technologies that support UK defence and industry. Its shipyards will leverage Navantia’s investment in digital design and shipbuilding management tools.
Navantia UK benefits from the international experience and track record of its parent company, Navantia SA, which has delivered more than 40 vessels to 8 nations over the past 20 years. The company’s designs are among the most advanced in NATO, and Navantia supports the navies of several countries, including Spain, Australia, and the United States.
