Navantia has established significant international partnerships, working with navies and customers in strategic markets such as Australia, Norway, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Collaboration with Lockheed Martin has made it possible to explore business opportunities in surface ships and submarines. In addition, Navantia has strengthened collaboration between Spanish and Australian universities, such as with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), creating the Maritime Institute of Technology (Marintec).
In terms of technology transfer and joint development, the SAMI‑Navantia joint venture with Saudi Arabia stands out, having developed the HAZEM naval combat management system. The acquisition of Harland & Wolff in the United Kingdom also reinforces Navantia’s capacity to fulfil the FSS shipbuilding programme. Furthermore, collaboration with SAGE Automation in Australia has enabled the development of the Integrated Platform Control System (IPCS) for the Royal Australian Navy.
