Turkey is currently one of the Navantia’s potential clients. The Turkish Navy has initialized a program for the acquisition of a LHD, based on the “Juan Carlos I”, built by Navantia for the Spanish Navy.
In order to impulse Navantia’s commercial actions in Turkey, for the consecution of the contract, the CEO of Navantia has held a meeting with the top level Defense authorities.
The Turkish Navy, as well as the local industry had de opportunity to visit the LHD “Juan Carlos I” in Istanbul, last June, and know the capabilities of the ship, during a stop as part of the cruise around the Mediterranean Sea.
It is to highlight that the Australian Government also decided to choose Navantia as the designer and builder of two LHDs based on the Juan Carlos I.
