The annual WindEurope event “Electric City 2021”, to be held in Copenhagen from 23 to 25 November, will be the ideal framework for companies from different sectors to meet and accelerate Europe’s transition to a carbon neutral economy. During the event, Navantia will present a poster entitled “Optimization of the Offshore Wind Jackets Manufacturing Process by means of Discrete-Event Simulation” and will participate in a panel on the Offshore supply chain.
Navantia is currently participating in various projects in collaboration with Windar Renovables, and the main objective for this event is therefore to transmit the image of technological and leading companies, with extensive experience in offshore wind programmes.
Navantia and Windar have been collaborating since 2015 in the construction of foundations for wind energy and have already manufactured more than a hundred jackets (fixed foundations) for different clients. Currently, they are building a total of 62 jackets at the Navantia shipyard in Fene (A Coruña) for an Iberdrola offshore wind farm in Saint Brieuc, in Bretagne, France, and have completed five floating structures for the Kincardine wind farm in Scotland, at the Navantia Fene and Navantia Puerto Real Shipyards.
